Over the years, we have had a long sales check-out line for various reasons: 1) Not having enough cashiers at the beginning of the sale, 2) the school's network quitting, 3) our computer system quitting, 4) new volunteers not understanding the process and system right from the start of the swap, 5) the Shops not providing a complete or accurate inventory of the goods they provided 6) and more. Sell/Consign gear at the Swap
Consignment is an arrangement in which goods are left in the possession of another party to sell. Typically, the consignor receives a percentage of the revenue from the sale. Both Snowsport Shops and Individual Sellers consign their new and used gear at the Newport Ski Swap. We take a small percentage of the sale and pay the consignee the rest. Continual Improvement
The Newport Ski Swap is hosted by the Newport High School Parent Teachers Association. We have been at this many years there is constant change at the school, facilities, people, philosophy and more. In addition the PTA bylaws require that all leadership positions are for 2 years causing another set of people and philosophy changes. We have a continual set of students coming and going.
