Sell/Consign gear at the Swap

Consignment is an arrangement in which goods are left in the possession of another party to sell. Typically, the consignor receives a percentage of the revenue from the sale.

Both Snowsport Shops and Individual Sellers consign their new and used gear at the Newport Ski Swap. We take a small percentage of the sale and pay the consignee the rest.

Individual sellers 1) register their gear online, 2) bring it on the assigned days/times. 3) swap personnel place it with the other gear of it type and size and 4) we provide a check for sold goods after the swap.

Snowsport Shops bring about 65% of the gear sold with about 30% of that used and the rest new. 75% of the new is last year's gear and the rest is current year gear. They also supply 75% of the knowledgeable sales folk. Snowsports Training organizations provide knowledgeable sales people as well.

All sales proceeds are paid to the Newport High School PTSA. We disburse the money to the consignees and the profit via grants to the school teachers and administration for unfunded needs.
